This portrait is an exercise is painting the finer detail of the human face. However, in taking the portrait one step further and illustrating the face of a zombie we allow the image to hold more detail with it's rotten skin.
The portrait was given extra detail with glasses and facial damage but the decision was made to leave this zombie free from gore and blood. This was done to help both the degradation on the flesh and the sadness of her expression shine through. Distinguishing her decay from time rather than a violent act.
