This piece is based highly on reference from months of research and concept development. Every element meaning something particular for the character's imagined backstory. My signature is even subtley shaved into her head if you can see that.
Story based pieces contain elements of religion, evolution, war, royalty, honour and loss. These elements can all be used by the viewer to create a backstory of their own. The imagination is a wonderful thing.
The creature here is inspired by Bartolomé Bermejo's demon from the work 'San Michele Trionfa Sul Demonio', 1468.
